I am using this blog to share my ideas and knowledge about early education and where it begins – in the home. I am a teacher certified by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. National Board Certification is the most prestigious credential a teacher can earn. Like board-certified doctors and accountants, teachers who achieve National Board Certification have met rigorous standards through intensive study, expert evaluation, self-assessment and peer review. I have fifteen years of experience teaching kindergarten in public schools of South Carolina. I have been a professional development facilitator for increasing teacher quality. I have also created bridge programs to connect preschool/daycares to kindergartens for better transitions into “big school.” Most recently, I have developed www.wigglegigglelearn.com. Through this website I provide weekly individualized learning plans and parent resources, which coordinate together as an educational roadmap for parents with children birth to five.
