I have just finished reading a report released by the U.S. Department of Education that states, if you read to your child from infancy until age five for:
• 30 Minutes Daily=You will have read to your child for 900 hours!
• 30 Minutes Weekly=You will have read to your child for 130 hours!
• Less than 30 Minutes Weekly=You will have read your child for 60 hours!
Well there it is folks, just like putting money in your savings account each week, the more you invest… the richer the reward. The correlation between achievement levels in school has everything to do with the years before we even begin school.
I am working on my own numbers that will reveal just how many hours and minutes your child is really getting one-on-one attention when he gets to school. It is frightening to say the least! As I always say… the earlier we get started, the more successful we become.
